On today’s episode we chat about the herbicide glyphosate and what role it plays in gluten issues and gut health. I chat about the rise of glyphosate, my experience going gluten-free, along with acne and why I’m currently doing a parasite cleanse.

Wednesday Feb 19, 2020
Wednesday Feb 19, 2020
Ep 33: Khet Waas Hutip is an herbalist, holistic nutrition counselor, and certified spiritual counselor. Like many of us his road to holistic health came about from his own health issues. As a teenager Khet had terrible asthma and allergies; he couldn’t even mow the grass and while most teenagers would have been happy to get out of that chore, Khet was alarmed. He knew it wasn’t “normal” to have such an adverse reaction to grass! He found some medicinal herbs in his families cabinet and began making herbal teas, not really knowing what he was going. It didn’t take long before most of his complaints went away. However, there were still some minor lingering issues that he wanted to eliminate. From the recommendation of a friend Khet ditched dairy and the rest is history. He completely cut out all animal product and healed himself! A new passion was formed and now he helps others heal with nutrition, herbs, and lifestyle change.
We sat down to chat about his transition and experience becoming a plant-based vegan, the power of herbs, their impact on prostate health, female health, and diseases of affluence. We also get into the benefits of Irish sea moss, fasting, the history of meat, the true definition of food, and why counting calories doesn't work.

Wednesday Feb 12, 2020
Wednesday Feb 12, 2020
Ep 32: Medicinal mushrooms are so amazing, but what are they exactly? And why are they so revered? On this episode we learn all about them from a mushroom expert who's been in the business for almost 50 years.
Jeff Chilton’s been a key figure in creating the booming medicinal mushroom market. He’s also the owner of Nammex, the first ever to offer a line of certified organic mushroom extracts in the U.S. that are now used by many supplement companies. His journey began right after college while working on a mushroom farm where he worked for 10 years. There he met a Japanese scientist who taught him all about medicinal mushrooms, which had been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. He then went on to attend conferences and expos all over the world educating people on the benefits of mushrooms, eventually forming his own organic extract company in 1989, selling the highest quality ingredients to nutraceutical and supplement companies around the world.
Jeff's been instrumental in educating the world about mushrooms and is basically the reason medicinal mushrooms are where they are today!
We learn about all the different types of medicinal mushrooms, their benefits, how mushrooms grow, what they are exactly, and how they're structured. We also chat about his upbringing, how he got to where he is today, as well as labeling laws and why reading labels and quality matter so much!
Jeff and his son Skye also started Real Mushrooms, a company selling medicinal mushroom extract direct to the consumer.

Tuesday Nov 19, 2019
Tuesday Nov 19, 2019
Ep 26: The practice of yoga is a deeply personal one, resonating differently for us all. Kelly Jean Moore credits her own discovery of yoga to not only saving her life, but helping her to truly live and escape the self destructive path she was on. Kelly Jean experienced a lot of trauma as a child and subsequently had some turbulent years as a teenager and young adult. However, in her early twenties her inner voice began speaking to her and loudly. She knew deep within that the path she was on wasn’t serving her in any way. She attended her first yoga class soon after and was immediately hooked. In just a few short months she was teaching! It was the study of Rolfing however that really transformed her yoga practice and the understanding of the body.
Of course she and I get into her origin story, yoga, different types of yoga practice, and Rolfing along with biohacking the system, the ritual of grounding, finding beauty in the mundane daily activities, and the psychology and communication of movement. We also chat about body image, yoga bodies, putting ourselves out there in the world, and above all being true to ourselves and speaking our truth.
Kelly Jean is a yoga teacher in Charleston, SC and has been for almost 16 years. She's also a certified Rolfer for 7 years, lover of the arts, mama, and owner of Mission Yoga in Charleston, SC.
